To Japan, From Our Hearts...

Yes, I am excited about my upcoming travel...

But the paranoid side of me is still super worried about the nuclear crisis in Japan.

I pray everyday that things will be fine and back to normal soon....

Be strong Japan...

Our hearts and prayers are with you...

Guak Guak Trip!!

Sometime 10 months ago, at about 11.30am...

"Won't it be interesting if we can travel by train from here to Thailand, and then to Cambodia and then Vietnam...?"

"Yea, oh my god... that'll be so cool... I think it can be done lar. Got train from KL Central to Hat Yai mah..."

*Picks up phone and dials travel buddy's extension*

"Oi!! We just thought of this brilliant plan wei... We take train to go to Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. Want not? Want not?"

"Wah.... so nice... can can can... Then we can cari makan, tangkap gambar... want want want!!"

2 days later...

"Eh!! I tell you arrrr... I took 3 hours just to book the flight back from Ho Chi Minh for us know... got free ticket only the lines all jammed up!! But I've done it!! Yeay!!"

***
We have been waiting for so long... and it is finally here!!!!! We will be up and on our way for our great adventure in barely 2 weeks time. Here's the master plan.

KL Central to Hat Yai
|
Hat Yai to Bangkok
|
Bangkok to Siem Reap
|
Siem Reap to Phnom Penh
|
Phnom Penh to Ho Chi Minh
|
Ho Chi Minh to LCCT

Currently we are finalizing all our plans and activities we can have along the way. Just last weekend we actually had a makan cum shopping trip to buy all the necessities for us to use during this trip.

We have got our heat-control item, hygiene-control items, travel clothing, bags and pouches, bottles and flasks, and definitely maps and travel guide books.

We are all so looking forward to it... hardly can concentrate on our day jobs. The anticipation of going on a vacation is one thing, but the anticipation on going to a semi-spontaneous trip is another. Oh man...

I will talk our experiences when we come back from the trip, but in the mean time, I pretty sure many of you had actually done trips like this or maybe even better. I look forward to hearing what you have to share with me too!!

Card Games We Love

Our group of friends had travelled together a few times, Sarawak... Cambodia... and a handful more of upcoming trips. Travelling together will definitely mean spending an enormous amount of time with each other. So how do we cope with that and not get bored of each other's sight?

Don't get us wrong though... We love travelling together and are almost equally adventurous and daring. But we are all unique in our own ways and not everyone are able to embrace your uniqueness, you see =) Travelling together, we have learned a lot about one another. One most (helpful) common trait is, we love family fun games.

During our Sarawak Trip, we discovered...

Monopoly Deal

It's a fast pace game derived from the original game. One of us actually bought the game by chance and we started playing on the spot. We got hooked on it ever since. It easy to understand and play. the stack of cards consist of property cards, money, and action cards.

Each player starts of with 7 cards in hand. In each turn a player is to drop up to 3 cards, be it to build his bank account, or his real estate; or use his action card to steal, exchange, demand others' for money and property. He will also have to take another 2 cards from the center deck. The first person to collect 3 complete sets of properties wins.

For the first time, when our flight was annouced to be delayed, we were overjoyed. We hid ourselves at the corner of the waiting area and played game after game.

Another game that we have recently discovered is...

We test run this game for the 1st time last week. We played Boggle Slam with wine as our companion for freaking 3 hours straight. This game is so fun and educational at the same time.

You give out the deck of cards evenly among the players after nominating a 4 letter word. When the game starts, all players are to change the nominated word with the letter in hands. For example, 'GAME' any player can change it to 'TAME' or 'FAME', it will end when a player throws out his last card.

This game is addictive and it tests your vocabulary. This game however, is loud. My ears were ringing after the three hours of screaming into each other's ears.

These 2 game cards which we have tried, kept us occupied for some days and nights while we are on our vacation. As we are all not so big on parties, these are good activities to bond our frendships as well as to fill in on nights which we just want a little 'we' time.

Try it for yourselves and do share your experiences with me =)
