I don't think I want to write out our itinerary here, instead, I think I will talk more about my feelings and what I had experienced there at Phuket. First of, I have never felt more foreign in my entire life. It felt like I was on an English island instead of Asian. There were so many
We visited the Phuket Fantasea. Basically it's a cultural show held in (literally) a wonderland. It is so colorful with so many different mascots and mythical creatures brought to life (size). The buffet was excellent, with a buffet area of enough space to cater for over 3000 people at a time. The cultural show was remarkable. Held in a theater that is able to cater for 4000 people. a stage so huge that more than 15 adult elephants are able to perform comfortably on it. It's an experience that if you are going to Phuket, you should be visiting this place. It might be a little bit pricy but in all, it's worth it.
We also participate in the Phi Phi Island tour. It's like the Langkawi island hopping, only 10 times better. We brought to more than 4 places to swim, snorkel and sight see. They even provided lunch and what seems like an endless stream of refreshments and beverages. I felt so silly, it was my first time to attempt snorkeling. I cried because I felt so damn uncomfortable using the snorkeling gear. I did not know how to use it. It would have been so wonderful to have a pre-scuba experience (as what Bie calls it). I will not give up, Bie won't let me anyway.
Shopping in Thailand is fun. It's a place where you don't have to be shy to bargain. I did not shop much because we had used a lot of money doing other things more worthwhile. I only got myself 3 suits of bikini for RM100 and 2 pure white blouses for RM60. Bestie Ping bought more though. Note to all, when you get to thailand, you MUST haggle your prices down. They DO overprice things, well of cause don't take advantage though. It's best to go on ratio of what you think is the best (reasonable) price. EVERYTHING in Phuket is bargainable. Bie got himself a really nice tattoo behind his shin at a really good price too, only RM150.
Bie had the chance to do shooting at a local shooting ranch. It's quite costly but apparently (I did not know it till then) it's not something that you can do everywhere else on earth. So Bie tried the shotgun as well as the M-16. It was confirm that it's not easy to find a shooting ranch when we got back from Phuket and Bie was telling his brothers about it, everyone was so excited.
The Ping Pong Show a.k.a Thai Girl show was truly an experience. Oh my... I never knew a woman's vigina can do wonders. It was unbelievable. She blew darts using a blowpipe... She 'gave birth' to a baby parrot... she 'shoot' bananas out... She even smoked with her vagina. I believe my eyes were popping out while wacthing the show. It was also a strip bar that we were at, watching the ping pong show.
This is the place where I truly see the people of Thailand. The place where I notice that the customer service of Phuket is marvellous. It didn't matter what they do for a living, from the small scale business people by the road side, to the mascots, to the infamous thai girls and as well as the striptease, everyone was delighted to serve you. Not a single one is without a genuine smile craved across their faces. Ironically the only unfriendly person I encountered was the lady in McDonald's.
I'm now anticipating my Siem Reap, Cambodia trip in October much much more. Can't wait to go to Angkor Wat. Can't wait to see new people and cultures. Haiz... now I'm back to Genting Highlands, feel so restless and bored. I feel like finding a job else where already. Roomie is most likely leaving, which makes my motivation drop even more. Anyone has any recommendations for me???
